The 2023 Lake Region live event will include the 10-mile, 10-mile relay, 5K & 1-mile events.
10-mile
The 10-mile course that is highlighted by a number of Fergus Falls area attractions. The course takes runners around Lake Alice, past the Regional Treatment Center, around the M State campus, through Butterfly Park, and will meet up with the 5K on it's way back. A loop style course will certainly challenge even the most experienced runners and will start and finish near Dr. Allen Magnuson Park.
10-mile Relay
The two-person 10-mile relay gives runners another distance option. The first leg is six miles and will exchange on campus at MState where the second leg is four miles. Runners can sign up in the male division, female division, or mixed gender division. Transportation will NOT be provided to and from the start and finish area. Please provide your own transportation. There is parking on MState Campus near the baseball field or Legacy Hall.
Relay runners will be exchanging an ankle bracelet at the exchange zone (MState). A porta pot and water will be available to runners.
Custom finisher medals are awarded to both members of the 10-mile relay team. Awards will be given to the first place team in the 10-mile relay for the men's division, women's division, and mixed division.
5k
The 5k is a 3.1-mile race that is great for any and all types of runners and walkers! We will have average pace signs at the start of the race so that you are running or walking with others at about your same pace. Please line up near the closest to what you think you will finish to make the race friendly for all! This course is highlighted by running up Mill Street, around Lake Alice finishing in Dr. Allen Magnuson Park. Signing up for multiple races is possible and will allow parents to run with or watch their child in the 1-mile and still take part in the 5k.
1-Mile
The 1-mile race is geared toward younger children and family fun. The 1-mile course is an out and back course on Mill Street! Signing up for multiple races is possible and will allow parents to run with or watch their child in the 1-mile and still take part in the 5k.
Participation medals will be given to all 1-mile participants. The top male and female in the 1-mile will be awarded a medal.
